The Exercise Therapist is happy to announce the new arrival of Junior RunFree!
Junior RunFree is aimed at adolescents between the ages of 10yrs-16yrs. The program allows participants to engage in mindfulness practice to heighten attention, in combination with individualised priming, functional strength and conditioning exercises, plyometric training and directed running methods. Ultimately this protocol will enhance your understanding, running fitness and your ability to run smarter, faster and with fewer injuries.
In eight weeks you will enjoy the mental and physical rewards of a leaner, stronger, lighter and more mindful body that will take your fitness to another level. Learn how to run smarter, faster and with fewer injuries. All fitness levels are welcome. There are three levels or subgroups each session that focus on developing either postural & task specific strengthening, running technique for beginners or advanced cardiovascular activities. No participants are allowed to engage in Free Running until they have established functional postural and task specific strength baselines. As each participant achieves and progresses through the levels, their running and fitness thrives.
This program is ideal for people who;
Have been runners in the past and had to stop due to injury.
Have never run before and want to understand how to run safely and sensibly.
Are looking to push their fitness, get faster and achieve specific results over 5km, 10km or half marathon distances.
Want to understand how they can use running to manage stress and anxiety.
The program culminates with a timed 5km Cottesloe Beach Park run event.

Starting this course recovering from a fractured fibulae, I didn't know what I was capable of, what I should or shouldn't be doing and feeling a little confused with differing recovery times/instructions from specialists.
You taught me that I needed to rehabilitate slowly and smartly to ensure not to cause other issues and though this was a little frustrating at times, was a great learning curve and obviously very beneficial.
